How your boat moves ahead
Fixed propeller shaft, outboard motor, sterndrive, waterjet, twin propellers and bow thruster: how each drive pushes and steers.

How a boat responds to throttle and steering depends on its drive. A propeller on a fixed shaft with a rudder behind it steers differently from an outboard motor that you turn as a whole, or a waterjet that steers with a jet of water.
In lesson 1 you get to know the drives that come up in the exam. After that it is about what the propeller and the rudder do, and about turning, berthing, leaving and stopping, also with wind and current.
With KVB1 complete you open every lesson and test.
